New to Nuestros Ranchos

Hi Everyone!

My name is Delia Guzman. My maternal grandmother[Isabel Reyes Flores (Beltran)] passed way this past March and since then I have began to seriously research my family ancestry. Her father, Jesus Nunez Flores was born in 6 August 1894 in Mezquital del Oro, Zacatecas, Mexico and her mother, Ventura Romero Reyes was born 14 July 1899 in Pilotos, Aguascalientes, Mexico.

Having just returned to school full-time, funds for memberships to websites is little to nothing, so I am looking for the most information I can from free resources.

I welcome any advice, tips, etc. and look forward to learning some new information.

Welcome, Delia. I love seeing new members with ties to Mezquital del Oro, Zac. My father was born in the US but was raised in Mezquital. His parents returned to Mexico when he was just a few months old. His father, Secundino Castaneda Cida, was born in Mezquital del Oro, Zac. in 1902. Secundino's great grandmother was a Flores, but I haven't been able to find very much information on her or her husband. Definitely look into FamilySearch.org, if you haven't already. I have been able to find a lot of great records there for free. Best of luck to you!
